Are you a fan of screen printing? What about performance? And installation? Live music? If you’re in Berlin, you can attend a great festival comprising of all these events and more at Mitte’s Neurotitan Galerie and Haus Schwarzenberg as we speak! Under the name PRINTNOIZE – AGIT PROP NON STOP, twenty six talented artists from the Czentrifuga network have once again joined forces with Berlin’s Mecca of Graphic art for a showcase of remarkable screen prints and a series of things to see and do over the course of three weeks in May. With some very special guests this year: Le Dernier Cri from France, Art Brut print legends and the Grejpfrut collective from outer space, aka Ljubljana, Slovenia, PRINTNOIZE is keeping its promise to provide an unforgettable experience to its visitors.
Neurotitan Galerie and Haus Schwarzberg Present – PRINTNOIZE
A great number of collective and individual works produced by 24 Berlin-based artists are presented at this year’s PRINTNOIZE screen print festival, all of whom represent the Czentrifuga artist network. Coming from the creative fields of performance, music, installation, printing, digital art and mixed media, but also street art and fashion, these talented individuals put on view a fine exhibition, which is accompanied by several workshops, installations and a very special event of a book completions. But before we reveal what to see, let’s check out the names of all participants. Apart from the above mentioned Le Dernier Cri (represented by Pakito Bolino) and the Grejpfrut collective, we have: Beat Gripp, Werner Kernebeck, Olivia Pils, SP 38, Maki Shimizu, Jovana Komnenic, Michael Schmacke, Tom Singier, Anika Hansen, Stine Brinklov, Marko Krojac, Gudrun Donner, Susann Poenisch, Yann Keller, Roland Barth, Ignatz Bee, Gabba Reifenstihl, Brookesia Studio and Gogo Trash.
Workshops and Installations
Although the PRINTNOIZE festival at Neurotitan Galerie is already some seven days in its programming, there are still some ten days left for you to enjoy. For instance, on Tuesday, May 24, between 2pm and 6pm you can attend screen printing workshops, where you can learn the craft yourself from the pros themselves! This particular workshop will also help you transform your ideas, designs and sketches into personal stickers! At the same time, you can also take part in workshops for plastic recycling craft actions called “Upicycle Circus”, held by one of the participating artists, Stine “Gogotrash” Brinklov. The works produced here will be on display in the exhibition, as they are constantly changing and evolving into a brand new artwork every time. On Saturday, May 28, make sure you join the open discussion on the topics and experiences of the participants as they show their collective work one last time.
The World is on Fire Screen Print Book
Perhaps the highlight of the entire PRINTNOIZE festival at Neurotitan Galerie is the completion of the “World is on Fire” screen printed book. Its ninety copies are being made in the context of this year’s event, as the final pages and book binding are being completed as we speak! Sized 25 x 28 cm, the book had many people involved in its making, including of course the Czentrifuga collective, but also anyone interested, both with or without experience in graphic arts or printing. Accompanying the book is a 40-minute long 12” LP – Audiokollage, also presenting the participants of PRINTNOIZE, whose recordings were taped every Friday from the end of March through May 18. Furthermore, there is also a limited edition cassette – how nostalgic. But that’s not all! There is also an original piece of jewellery, made by Gogo Trash.
That being said, head over to Neurotitan Galerie and Haus Schwarzenberg in Mitte for a showcase of screen prints by the artist of the Czentrifuga collective, as the PRINTNOIZE festival will only last until May 28, 2016.neurotitan
